Mount Ida (Kaz Dağı) - Koşan Sağlık Merkezi

In the region, the vastness of the forested area has led to denser settlement areas. One of my favorite places, Yeşilyurt Village, is a unique village consisting of 90 stone houses located in this region. For centuries, the finest examples of stonemasonry have been found in this shade. In mythology, it is said that the first beauty contest was held in Yeşilyurt Village.

The climate of Yeşilyurt Village and Mount Ida generally bears the characteristics of the Aegean and Mediterranean climates. It is said that its air is beneficial for respiratory tract and many other diseases.

Formerly known as Büyük Çetmi, Yeşilyurt Village in Çanakkale is thought to have a history of 700 years. The village, where Greeks and Turks lived together for centuries, offers an Aegean and Mediterranean atmosphere with its stone houses, cobblestone streets, wide village square, historic mosque, olive groves, pine forests, cypress trees in its cemetery, and various fruit trees.

The Greek population left the village and migrated to Greece in 1924 during the population exchange, and Turks from Greece settled in their place. Yeşilyurt Village, located 2.5 km from the sea and 500 meters inland from the Çanakkale Road, is one of the rare places where mountain and sea air can be experienced together.

Mount Ida, known as Mount Ida in ancient times, is a mountain famous for its myths. Its name is mentioned in mythology to refer to Mount Ida in Crete, where Zeus was born. Therefore, the mountain has an important place in Greek mythology.

Here, in Homer's "Iliad", it is mentioned as "Mount Ida with a thousand springs." Homer frequently mentions Mount Ida in the Iliad as "a mountain with abundant springs and the mother of wild animals." According to legend, the famous beauty contest that led to the Trojan War was held here in Yeşilyurt Village, Zeus was born here, the gods watched the Trojan War from here, and Aphrodite fell in love for the first time here.

On a hill dominating a wide area south of Adatepe village, north of Küçükkuyu, there is a temple called "Zeus Altar." It is rumored that the great Zeus made love to Aphrodite on this hill and also managed the war.

In addition to the gods and Troy legends, there are also legends related to the region such as Sarıkız and Hasan Boğuldu. There is even a story by our famous writer Sabahattin Ali called "Hasan Boğuldu," which tells only the legend related to this region. Cevat Şakir, known as the Fisherman of Halicarnassus, frequently uses the name of Mount Ida in his works.

Assos (Behramkale) is a fascinating region with the famous philosophers Aristotle and Plato having lived there for a while, famous for its olives, olive oil, its ice-cold sea, tranquility, and the ancient city of Apollon with the ancient Athena Temple built on a basalt hill.

Located within pine trees that contain abundant oxygen, Kazdağları, situated in a canyon full of history, nature, valleys, and canyons, offers a healthy holiday experience throughout the year. The beauties of Kazdağları, which are even the subject of legends, have now spread abroad. As a result, numerous domestic and foreign tourists visit Kazdağları throughout the year.

Located within the borders of Edremit district of Çanakkale, Kazdağları was declared a national park in the 1990s and placed under protection. This is why there is no settlement at the top of Kazdağları. The boutique hotels of Kazdağları are also located on the slopes of the mountain or in nearby towns.

Especially suitable for nature walks, Kazdağları hotels offer many opportunities for fresh air and clean food in their kitchens. If you have decided to stay in Kazdağları, it would be useful to visit our website for affordable price options and reservation opportunities for the most suitable Kazdağları Yeşilyurt Village hotel for you.
