Cunda, the unique island of the North Aegean... Like its sister islands, it speaks the language of the wind. It doesn't reveal itself at first sight, a few days of visits are not enough, Cunda wants us to give it more time to reveal itself.

And, when we are ready, it offers itself to us so generously... The good-spirited people it has cultivated, the exchange immigrants who hang out with each other, the fishermen whose boats are patched, Bademci Halil, who draws attention with his presence, the

flavor of the dibek coffee that Ferit grinds by hand in Taş Kahve, the nostalgic houses dating back centuries, the Ayışığı Monastery, the endemic flowers whose flora we admire during our long walks, offer us exquisite visual feasts every time and allow us to accumulate unforgettable memories.

For example, if we were to stand for ten minutes in front of each Greek house built with garlic stones on this overwater island, it would take us days to see and digest them all. We wouldn't say we've been to Cunda without going up to the hills and admiring the awe-inspiring views, dear readers.

Ina Cunda Art Hotel, located right next to the Rahmi Koç Museum on this peninsula, seems to be set up to look beautiful in every photo taken! This is a rare place that is straight out of the old times and deserves all the praise. The overall proportions of the façade, the elegant entrance door and the humble hosts are immediately apparent as soon as you enter. The same can be said for the ceiling decorations, specially selected objects and Fikret Altay's paintings that offer a feast for the eyes inside. Ina Cunda Art has an indescribable elegance...

In the evening, there comes a moment when we dream of raki, fresh sea fish and merry tables. Since we want to find and remember our old memories with the same names, our favorite taverns do not change much: Yakamoz Avlu, Adabeyi, Son Vapur and Teo's. Our favorite is their room called "Masal" with details so small that they catch our eye. We leave Ina Cunda Art Hotel with a pleasure that is not possible every day.
