Imagine taking a right from the main street in the town center and arriving at a red belted door. You will definitely wonder what the place will look like once you open that door. The feeling of amazement you get once you’re inside is because of the preservation of the historic details of an old Rum stone house. The first thing you’ll notice will be a red, cast iron stove and a rocking chair right next to it. The ideal place for reading that unfinished book you’ve been planning to finish. Then you will see a tonette table, great for breakfast with classical music playing in the background. Afterwards, you may want to enjoy a little nap on the large, comfy, navy couch…
Further ahead are the stairs going upstairs, making you wonder again. This time for a surprise that is waiting for you upstairs. Up on the second floor, what awaits you is a romantic bedroom with a high wooden ceiling. The high ceiling gives a spacious feeling in the room that will make you feel even more relaxed. The balcony next to the room with a floor preserved just as in the old times, is designed to be used on a full-moon night…
Blue reflects the warmth and the spirit of the Mediterranean and this blue house looks as if it’s from a fairy tale. As you enter through the doors, you will be enchanted by the courtyard with the maroon flowered bougainvillea and the geranium hanging down the stairs. After that, you look in the mirror just to see the reflection of the blue village chairs and notice that the divan is adorned with every imaginable tone of blue. You turn your head to the idyllic village kitchen that is facing the courtyard. You find yourself thinking about cooking the most delicious Mediterranean foods… When you get to the room on the garden level, it greets you with a large blue chair and a book shelf. Once you get into the room, you cannot miss the wardrobe, which is over hundred years old, also reflecting the Mediterranean spirit in blue and white.
You go back to the courtyard to go up the old staircase, heading to the room on the second floor. Just outside the room, there is a small balcony with an endearing view of the courtyard that will fascinate you. As you enter the room there, you feel like you have travelled in time with a double door walnut wardrobe with oval mirrors, a stone mirror on the left reminiscent of our childhood and a fireplace with logs ready to be loaded. As you look closer, you find out that the fireplace is actually a very old stove! The build-in closet on the right is straight out of the fairy tale you’ve been thinking about, hiding a kitchenette.
The ceramic tiles in the bathroom are also from the streets of the fairy tale. The blue ceramic basin sat upon a walnut base and the mirror above it catch your eyes and once you look into the mirror, you feel like the fairy tale has taken you to the past.
