Urgup to Add Vitality to Night Tourism with Rock Lighting Project
In Ürgüp, the unique touristic center of Cappadocia, the rock lighting project is being implemented to revitalize night tourism.
In Ürgüp, one of the important points of Cappadocia tourism, work has started to revitalize the night tourism of the region with the automatic rock lighting project. Urgup Municipality Councilor Muammer Erinal, after the park landscaping works in Melek Girmez Street (now known as Dagestanli Street) in the district center, carried out an exemplary application for the lighting of the rocks on the upper part of the boutique hotel he owns.
Urgup Mayor Ali Ertuğrul Bul, in a statement made on his social media account, stated that with the adoption of this exemplary practice by other hotel owners in the district, Urgup will become a center of attraction for night tourism. Mayor Bul made the following statements in his statement: “Our Council Member Muammer Erinal, after the parking and landscaping arrangements on Melek Girmez Street (Dağıstanlı Street), started the rock lighting project in cooperation with the hotels with facades on the rocks. Each hotel will illuminate its own rock with economical LED and daylight lamps. In this way, Ürgüp will take on a completely different beauty at night.”
Calling on hoteliers who have not joined the project, Mayor Bul said, “We want to expand this project further and make our district an important destination for night tourism. We are also waiting for our hoteliers who have not yet joined the project. Urgup is all of us and we will increase these beauties together.”
The rock lighting project of Ürgüp Municipality aims to increase the tourism potential of the city and emphasize the natural beauties of the region at night. Within the scope of the project, hotels will both save energy and contribute to the aesthetic structure of the region with nature-compatible lighting systems.
