I am in a different land, smoked with mystical stories, unlike anywhere else. If you want to discover a completely different world in my beloved country, I suggest you come to Urfa. There is a dizzying culture here with its friendly people, colorful bazaars and newly discovered - and yet to be discovered - historical treasures. I still have Göbeklitepe to see and Halfeti to visit, but first let me tell you about Astarte Hotel where I stayed;
Just like the city, Astarte is a hotel that is a trus
tee enough to protect its history and all its memories. It takes its name from the fertility goddess of the Western Semitic civilization that Urfa is familiar with. There are 14 rooms in the historical mansion with an inner courtyard that has been restored in accordance with the original.
With options for double, triple and family rooms, even sleeping and waking up in the cross-vaulted rooms with wooden beams is a different experience in the city's memory archive.
The names of the rooms in the hotel are inspired by the sky, ancient civilizations and gods and goddesses. The most popular rooms are Mitras, Shira, Assyria, Bersin and Esman. You are likely to wander in a time tunnel in your dreams...
For breakfast, the unique harmony of Siverek cheese and pişi whets the appetite. Be sure to taste traditional flavors such as zahter, baked eggplant and tomatoes.
Tea treats spread throughout the day are also a beauty of hospitality. Listen to the whispers of Urfa while sipping tea in the courtyard and stone lobby.
Watch the Urfa sun, which will never know how many million times it rises or sets, from the gazebo on the terrace. And, and, and, and attend a queue night and taste the famous cig meatballs and şıllık dessert. Here are three more must-haves in the city's memory archives...
They love pets, so pawed friends are welcome.
Astarte Hotel is 6 km from the bus station and 40 km from the airport. Balıklıgöl, Archeology and Mosaic Museum, bazaar and historical inns are 5 - 10 minutes walking distance.
You can reach Göbeklitepe, one of the must-see places in the region, in 25 minutes and the ancient city of Harran in 50 minutes. If you want to go to Halfeti and Mount Nemrut, it is a 1.5 - 2.5 hour drive.
Make sure to note down the city addresses for local delicacies. Cevahir Restaurant for Urfa flavors, Aziz Usta for liver, Şark Kebab - Kösenin Yeri for kebab, Edessa Künefe and Üstüneller Baklava for dessert.

This is the best time for an authentic experience, so don't keep the discoveries waiting.
