Today I will tell you about the beautiful Olympos Village House, a corner of paradise in Olympos, Antalya (@olymposkoyevi). "Rest requires freedom." says Mr. İbrahim, the owner of Olympos Village House
This place is hidden inland, among the mountains and the forest, as if escaping from the Mediterranean Sea that surrounds Olympos. I enter through the arched entrance gate built using traditional stone and earth.
In the garden full of greenery pouring like a cascade from the tops of the stone walls, the owners Gülistan Hanım and İbrahim Hoca welcome me by the pool.
23 years ago; Village House Olympos Countryhouse was born from the meeting of nature, history and human labor in the most reasonable way. It is full of a ton of details that catch my eye because it is blended with the synthesis of Amasya houses and the structures of ancient Lycia. The overall proportion of the façade, the arched entrance doors, the ceiling decorations, the different rooms arranged according to the tastes of the old period... My favorite: "Stone Room"
Room sizes vary between 15 m2 - 20 m2 in all rooms.
Let's talk about the kitchen: Sourdough bread, open buffet dinner, also very suitable for vegans and vegetarians. Special olive oil appetizers at dinner, grilled wings, sea bass and sea bream, handmade jams, handmade hamburger (the bread and pickles are their own production, the meat is specially selected), pastries, cakes and pastries they make themselves at breakfast, desserts at dinner, handmade lemonades...All of them are a great richness.
They also serve free tea at breakfast and after dinner.
In this very isolated place, in Olympos Village House; I am on my way back with the pleasant conversations and concerts given by the hosts Gülistan Hanım, İbrahim Bey, Özgün with beautiful music playing, bright smiles and the arı flavors of their meals.
A paw-friendly place is also the Village House Olympos Countryhouse.
🧘♀️ Various workshops can be organized in the indoor halls throughout the year. There are also musicians on site, so music is important, usually world music, ethnic jazz, funk, rock, etc. Some evenings the owners also organize live music.
🏝️ For the sea, Olympos Beach, which I reached on foot, is preferable. It is 8 minutes by car.
🧑🌾 Hiking routes; Arykanda, Myra, Gelidonya Lighthouse, Göynük Canyon.
🌿 Since the Lycian Way passes through here, small parts can be walked in the spring and fall months. Since the bays in the region are beautiful, we recommend Adrasan or Kekova boat tour. If it is cool and there is a full moon, Yanartaş (chimera) surrounded by the flames of natural gases, Olympos beach and Olympos ancient city, Phasalis ancient city and beach, walking to Sazak bay or Maden bay (3 hours), hiking or cable car to Tahtali Mountain (a little expensive)
✏️ Special note! They have been strictly recycling organic food since they opened. They have compost. They use natural, eco-friendly materials in both structure and architecture. In general, they also care about recycling and avoiding overconsumption.
✨ What makes this place special is its architecture. It has an eclectic, natural and original architecture that is a synthesis of Turkish Amasya houses and ancient structures of the Lycian period. And the cuisine.
