Places to see in Karaburun
There are many blue flagged and clean beaches and bays in Karaburun. You can go to Mimosa Bay, Bodrum Bay, Manal Bay, Dolungaz and Mordogan Bearfish Bay, Blue Flag Aquarium and Kuyucak Beaches. If you want, you can swim in a different place every day. You can explore these bays by boat or motorbike.
You can take a nice walk and shop in the centre of Karaburun. You can see the Peynirini Cave, which is very close to Karaburun. This is a very long and deep cave. We can even say that bats live in the depths of the cave.
Ayşe Kadın Mosque in Mordoğan, close to Karaburun, is one of the touristic places. You can visit this place. Built 700 years ago, the mosque was built by the mother of a girl named Ayşe Kadın after she left a will to her mother.
Sarpıncık Lighthouse Go 12 km further from Karaburun Yeniliman. When you approach the end point of the peninsula, take the Sarpıncık Village signpost. Go up the hills and follow the Sarpıncık Lighthouse sign which you will come across at the very end. After that, you arrive at Sarpıncık Lighthouse with its 12-metre white tower and lighthouse house in the garden, accompanied by wind roses, on a dirt path between the mountains. In my opinion, it was definitely worth going there. Özkan Gülkaynak says, ‘The fact that it is located on a beautiful slope in a nature reminiscent of the geography of Scotland makes it even more attractive’. Indeed, he is very right, it has such a beauty. Built on 10 January 1938, the lighthouse is one of the 50 lighthouses in Turkey. And it is considered one of the 10 best lighthouses. It is an ideal place to escape to a quiet place, there is a bay just below where you can swim and of course plenty of peace.
