Altınoluk, one of the first places that comes to mind when it comes to summer tourism, is a charming place in Edremit district of Balıkesir. The place, which dates back to the XVIth century, was called Papazlık until the Republican period. It is known as a place where especially Yoruk Turkmens settled. Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror made great use of the Yoruk Turkmens in this region during the great conquest, especially for lumbering. Altınoluk attracts the attention of many local and foreign tourists in its current form. In other words, the neighborhood of the past has now become a tourism paradise.

In addition, there are abundant and clean, ice-cold spring waters coming from the Kaz Mountains. The 43 km long coastline has 10 beaches and these beaches are legendary for their clarity.The coastline is similar to the classic Aegean coast and there are bays, inlets and outlets. Mıhlı Cape, Fener Cape, Avcılar Bay, Narlı Bay, Özdemir Sitesi Beach stand out as the most well-known places. 
Although Altınoluk is known as a small hidden neighborhood in the Ottoman Empire, its history actually dates back to ancient times. It is located in the region called 'Işıklar Coast' in myths and is located between the Troy region and Dikili. It is a classic Aegean region, so to speak.
