We immediately settle down in the most beautiful place that will tell us that we are on a wine island: Armagrandi Hotel (@armagrandihotels).
Armagrandi is a 100-odd year old restored old winery. With its high ceilings, massive columns, specially selected paintings, stone walls and a garden that can "run a horse" from end to end; it drags us into nostalgi
c island dreams. I stay in the garden room, whose windows reflect the evening sun.
In these days when it is not easy to find traces of the old, this room caresses my soul. Nostalgia for the old? Absolutely not, just a lament for the "disappearance" of an important slice of a cultural heritage unprecedented in the world...
We are humming Yahya Kemal's exquisite lines: "Each one of the many departed is satisfied with his place / Many years have passed; no one has returned from his voyage.
As Nazım Hikmet said about Anatolia, the island is so close to the sea in the north of the Aegean Sea that when I leave the hotel and walk to the sunset on the breakwater, I get the feeling that we are embracing the waves. The sea, the people and the crows are in constant motion. Accompanied by a well-chilled bottle of white island wine, I go to Beylik Bay to feast on hedgehogs (sea urchins).
This island, which lives up to its name with its coves, old houses, restaurants, narrow streets and fishing boats moored at the docks, is attractive to me in all seasons.
Armagrandi is located on Dolaplı Sokak in the center of the island, with a sweet slope to the sea. The biggest feature of the hotel is that the rooms are always cool because of the stone walls. It is also spacious and peaceful with its high ceilings.

18 stone rooms are located in the main building. The hotel also has 3 individual rooms in the garden and one villa room.
🍳 They make all the products for breakfast themselves. They also support the season with fruits and vegetables from their farm in Kazdağları.
