Travel and Accommodation Guide for Vacation in Alacati and Cesme
There are some places that fill you with warmth just by hearing their name. Alaçatı is such a place. With the scent of lavender you smell as you wander through its narrow streets, the sounds of laughter filtering through the windows of stone houses, and the squares that come alive at night, Alaçatı is like a fairy tale that makes you fall in love with it every time. The first time I visited Alaçatı, ice cream in hand, walking under the afternoon sun, I thought to myself, “This is the epitome of a summer vacation!” Since that day, I have been on my way here every summer. If you haven't been here yet, let me warn you in advance: Alacati is addictive!
Places to Visit in Alaçatı
The thing about Alacati is enjoying the beautiful places, watching the beautiful people, eating good food and of course long nights. Don't expect tourist spots like museums or historical ruins, but Alaçatı itself is an experience in itself.
Alaçatı Köyiçi: This is where the heart of Alaçatı beats. The famous bougainvillea stone houses, boutique hotels, wonderful restaurants and colorful boutiques are all here. It's quiet during the day, but in the evening it takes on its true identity. The sound of music wafting through the streets, people chatting in chic restaurants and the Aegean scent...
Port Alacati Port Alaçatı is a luxurious area that hosts a marina. Boats are parked in front of the houses, not cars. Even if you don't have a boat, stopping by one of the chic restaurants here for dinner can be a nice option.
Surf Zone Windsurfing enthusiasts come here! This is one of the best windsurf spots in the world. It used to be a place where foreign athletes flocked due to the PWA Windsurfing World Cup organized here. Nowadays, it is a fun and energetic area mostly preferred by local surfers.

To stay in Alacati, it is essential to take advantage of the magical atmosphere of stone hotels! Staying in small, boutique hotels is the best option to feel the spirit of Alaçatı. If you want to be in Alacati this summer, you can discover the most beautiful hotels on kucukoteller.com.tr and make your reservation now. Are you ready to take the first step towards becoming an Alaçatı addict like me?
As the summer season approaches, the enchanting atmosphere of Çeşme and Alaçatı, the pearl of the Aegean, keeps spinning in my mind. I remember those beautiful days when I felt the wind of Çeşme on my skin and got lost in the stone streets of Alaçatı. One afternoon, as I was walking towards the setting sun, I could smell the fragrant scent of lavender and the light jazz music playing in the background...
Çeşme and Alaçatı conquered my heart not only with the sea and the sun, but also with its gastronomy. I can say it is a paradise especially for appetizers. If you are ever in Alaçatı, I have listed a few places you should definitely visit.
Meze Restaurants in Alacati
Eflatun Located in the village center of Alaçatı, this place is literally in the “market”. If you want to enjoy appetizers while watching the passers-by, this is the place for you. But my suggestion is to go for the main courses. Especially the robespiereve vongole is a must try.
Vine Leaf One of the most popular appetizers in Alacati. In the courtyard of an old village house, it offers the pleasure of eating meze in a nostalgic atmosphere. But keep in mind that the portions are small and the prices are a bit steep.
Dutlu Kahve: As the name suggests, it offers a nostalgic experience under a large mulberry tree with blue and white gingham tablecloths. First famous for its coffee, it is now a favorite for its appetizers.
Enginarre: A cozy, intimate place. Prices are reasonable according to Alacati standards. The family-owned Kabak Çiçeği is in the same vein, so keep it in mind if you're looking for a different alternative.
Nevi: This place is located a bit outside of Alacati, in Yıldızburnu, but it's definitely worth a visit. You can try the new generation appetizers prepared with care at the seafront tables. If you are looking for a quieter alternative away from the lively atmosphere of Alaçatı, this is the place for you.
Of course, you can't eat meze every day! At some point you need a change. That's why I started to discover other flavor stops in Alaçatı.
Alacati's Favorite Places
Alaçatı has been on a serious gastronomic rise in recent years. It's a vacationer's paradise with its small and quaint streets, concept cafes and carefully decorated restaurants. But let me be honest, it's almost impossible to find an affordable meal. Still, it's worth the experience!
There are some places you should definitely visit when you go to Alaçatı:
New generation coffee shops: There are plenty of third generation coffee shops in Alaçatı. A few suggestions for a delicious flat white: Kaffe, Köşe Kahve.
A cure for dessert cravings: If you want to eat gummy custard or curd dessert, don't skip Imren.
Fish and seafood: For a quieter and more affordable option, head to Urla or Seferihisar.
By the way, most of the restaurants in Alacati only serve in the evening. It's hard to find an open place at noon because most people are at sea at this time. If you have dinner plans, I recommend making a reservation after 19:30.
Beaches of Cesme
Delikli Bay: Famous for its natural beauty and crystal clear sea, but no sunbeds.
Diamond Beach: It is windy but the sand is beautiful, ideal for surfers.
Suitable for: Surfers, nature lovers
Aya Yorgi Bay: A perfect choice for beach club lovers.
Ilica Beach: A classic option with warm water and golden sand.

With its sunshine, sea, delicious flavors, and heartwarming atmosphere, every moment here is meant to be cherished. And if you ever find yourself in Alaçatı, here are some of my personal favorite spots for an unforgettable culinary journey.
Alaçatı’s Best Culinary Stops
Kapari Bahçe: If you only have time for one meal in Alaçatı, make sure to enjoy it at one of its vibrant street-side restaurants. Kapari Bahçe offers a charming setting with a peaceful terrace. Start with eggplant paçanga, Hania börek, and the chef’s special mezes, then move on to beef fillet with artichoke puree. This is a meal that truly captures the soul of Alaçatı. Be sure to make a reservation, as it can be hard to find a table!
Eflatun Alaçatı: Known for its Robespierre steak and clam spaghetti, Eflatun stands out with its unique flavors. While I wasn’t as impressed with the mezes, seafood lovers should definitely give this place a try.
Asma Yaprağı Kiler & Ovacık Branch: If you want to taste home-style Aegean cuisine, both locations of Asma Yaprağı are great choices. Their pumpkin sinkonta and stuffed zucchini flowers are must-tries. The Ovacık branch offers a more peaceful and spacious setting.
Kırmızı Ardıç Kuşu: Pizza lovers, this one's for you! Located on one of Alaçatı’s busiest streets, Kırmızı Ardıç Kuşu is famous for its delicious wood-fired pizzas. Don’t leave without trying the roasted eggplant pizza.
Dutlu Kahve: It may look like a simple tea garden, but it’s actually one of Alaçatı’s best-kept secrets when it comes to Aegean mezes and olive oil dishes. It gets quite crowded in the evening, so go early to fully enjoy the experience.
Sota Alaçatı: One of the trendiest spots for seafood lovers. A great choice for crab, lobster, and shrimp dishes. The fact that it’s open year-round is another big plus.
Agrilia: One of Alaçatı’s oldest restaurants, Agrilia is located inside Alavya Hotel. Dining here feels like stepping into a nostalgic Alaçatı experience.
Avula Alaçatı: A newly opened venue that’s great for both breakfast and dinner. But be warned—it’s often fully booked, so make a reservation in advance.
Enginarre: As the name suggests, artichokes are the star here. My top picks? Bosnian-style dumplings, artichoke pilaf, and buttered octopus.
Yek Alaçatı: A sophisticated seafood restaurant by Chef Kemal Demirasal, the name behind Alancha. Expect elegant seafood dishes that highlight the best of the Aegean.
Roka Bahçe: A hidden gem with a tranquil garden setting, perfect for enjoying Aegean mezes. Try their shrimp, calamari, and seafood pilaf for a true taste of the region.
