What to do in 3 days in Lefkada?

When you arrive in Lefkada, the spring breeze wafting through the olive trees will embrace you in such a way that you will instantly feel how special your three days in this hidden treasure of the Aegean will be. Surrounded by the turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea, this island offers the most beautiful colors of nature, from the dramatic cliffs of Porto Katsiki to the tranquil bays of Nydri. It's perfect for those looking for both a tranquil getaway and a little adventure, waking up to the scent of flowers in the morning and the sound of waves in the evening. The best thing I've learned over the years exploring this enchanting destination is that Lefkada is a place where every moment is lived to the fullest. Now, I'm sharing with you the most enjoyable ways to enjoy this island in three days; are you ready to get into the spring rhythm of Lefkada?

Day 1 Keeping Up with the Island Rhythm

In the morning, we stop by one of Lefkada's most famous patisseries, Bakery To Koutouki, for breakfast. Here, warm pastries and Greek yogurt tasting like honey and cream are a must to start the day!

After breakfast, we head to Porto Katsiki Beach. Surrounded by cliffs, it is famous for its white sand and turquoise waters. After some swimming and sunbathing, stop by Sesoula Taverna for lunch. Their grilled octopus and olive oil appetizers are to die for.

In the afternoon, we visit Lefkada Castle and take a walk through the old streets towards sunset. Rachi Restaurant is the ideal address for dinner. Don't leave without trying the seafood pasta with a view!

Day 2 Alone with Nature and Sea

Today, we are going with a little more adventurous spirit! First, we are going to Egremni Beach. It's a bit troublesome to reach, but when you see it, you will say “I'm glad I came!”.

For lunch, I recommend Thymari Restaurant. I especially recommend the Greek meatball soutzoukakia.

In the evening we go to Karabouki Bar in Sivota for some fun. Greek music, ouzo and lots of laughter guaranteed!

Day 3 Small Discoveries and Final Farewells

On our last day we take a slightly more relaxed pace. We have our morning coffee at Café de la Luna in Lefkada Town. Then we go to Mylos Beach and say goodbye to this fairytale island.

How to get to Lefkada from Turkey?

To get to Lefkada from Turkey, you can first fly to Athens and then take a 4-hour drive. Alternatively, you can cross into Greece at the Ipsala border crossing and continue by car via Thessaloniki. You don't need to use a ferry because Lefkada is connected to the mainland by a bridge.

We stayed in Lefkada town and found it to be a great center full of restaurants and bars. For transportation, buses run quite frequently, but it's best to rent a scooter, ATV or car because most places can be reached within 30 minutes. If you can only drive a manual transmission, book in advance!
