Eskisehir Although its name is old, Eskişehir,

The history of Eskişehir dates back to ancient times. Founded around the Porsuk River by the Phrygians in BC, the city later hosted many civilizations such as Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman. The city, formerly known as Dorlion, has always been one of the most important crossroads as it has always been located on trade routes. Today, you can still find many historical artifacts from the Phrygians in Eskişehir.
The locals of Eskişehir are mostly of Crimean and Tatar origin. Therefore, the culture of the city has features of Tatar culture.

The Porsuk River, which runs right through the middle of the city, divides Eskişehir in two.
