There are several ways to get to Buyukada, the largest of the Princes' Islands located in the Sea of Marmara, near Istanbul, Turkey:
Ferry: The most popular and traditional way to get to Buyukada is by ferry. The ferry ride takes about an hour and a half from Istanbul's Kabatas port, and there are several ferry companies that operate daily.
Sea Bus: You can also take a Sea Bus from the Yenikapi terminal to Buyukada. It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach the island.
Private boat: You can also rent a private boat from Istanbul to take you to Buyukada.
Public Transport: Take the metro to the last stop (Kabatas) then take the funicular to Taksim. From Taksim take the bus to "Kabatas Iskele" and then take the ferry.
Regardless of the means of transportation you choose, make sure to check the schedule and availability in advance, especially during peak season.
Once you arrive in Buyukada, the best way to explore the island is by renting a bicycle or taking a phaeton (horse-drawn carriage) tour.
