
Directions to Gelibolu
You can reach by sea and land. If you are coming by your own car, whether you come from Istanbul or Edirne, especially the road on the Thrace side is very beautiful in terms of scenery. However, if you are coming from the Asian side, there are continuous ferry services from the Çanakkale pier. There are also car ferry services.
By car The distance between Istanbul and Gallipoli is about 320 km and it takes about 5-6 hours to reach Gallipoli by car. You can rent a car in Istanbul and drive to Gallipoli via the O-3 motorway or the E-87 motorway.
By bus From Istanbul's main bus terminal, called ‘Esenler Bus Station’, you can take a bus to Çanakkale. The bus journey takes approximately 5-6 hours. Once you reach Çanakkale, you can take a minibus or taxi to reach Gallipoli, which is about 25 km from the city centre.
By ferry You can take a ferry from Istanbul's Kabataş or Eminönü pier to Çanakkale. The ferry journey takes approximately 4-5 hours. After reaching Çanakkale, you can take a minibus or taxi to go to Gallipoli.
Private Transfer: You can also book a private transfer service from Istanbul to Gallipoli. Many tour operators and travel agencies offer this service and it is a convenient way to reach Gallipoli without any hassle.
Whichever transport option you choose, the journey to Gallipoli is scenic and there are several sights to see along the way. Once you reach Gallipoli, you can explore the historic battlefields, museums and monuments commemorating the events of the Gallipoli campaign during World War I.
