How to get to Kefalonia Island

Kefalonia Island is located in the Ionian Sea in western Greece. The island is accessible by both air and sea.

By Air:
Kefalonia Island has an international airport (EFL) located in the southern part of the island, near the town of Argostoli. During the peak season (May-October), there are direct flights to Kefalonia Island from several European cities, including London, Manchester, Amsterdam, Berlin, and Vienna. You can also fly to Athens and take a domestic flight to Kefalonia Island, which takes about 1 hour.

By Sea:
Kefalonia Island is well-connected by ferry services from the mainland of Greece and other neighboring islands. The island has two ports - Poros and Sami - which receive daily ferries from the port of Killini on the Peloponnese mainland, as well as from the islands of Zakynthos, Lefkada, and Ithaca. The journey time from Killini to Kefalonia is approximately 1.5 hours.

Alternatively, you can also take a ferry from the port of Patras on the Greek mainland, which takes around 3-4 hours to reach Kefalonia Island. Ferry schedules and ticket prices vary depending on the season, so it's best to check with the ferry companies in advance.
