Directions to Pergamon

Pergamon, also known as Bergama, is an ancient city located in the Izmir province of Turkey. Here are the directions to reach Pergamon from Izmir city center:

By Car: From Izmir, take the E87 highway towards Ayvalik/Canakkale. After about 80 km, take the exit for Bergama and follow the signs to Pergamon.

By Public Transportation: There are frequent buses from the Izmir bus station (Basmahane) to Bergama. The journey takes about 2 hours and the bus ticket costs around 20 TL. Once you arrive in Bergama, you can take a dolmus (minibus) to reach the Pergamon Acropolis.

By Guided Tour: Many tour operators in Izmir offer guided tours to Pergamon, including transportation from Izmir to Pergamon and back. This is a convenient option if you prefer to have a guide to show you around the site.
