Safranbolu is a historic town located in the Karabük Province of Turkey, about 200 km (125 miles) northeast of Ankara and 400 km (250 miles) west of Istanbul. Here are some directions to Safranbolu from both cities:
From Ankara:
By car: Take the E80 highway westbound towards Istanbul. After about 150 km (93 miles), take the exit for the D765 highway towards Karabük and Safranbolu. Follow the signs to Safranbolu.
By bus: There are several bus companies that offer regular service from Ankara to Safranbolu. The journey takes approximately 3-4 hours, depending on traffic.
From Istanbul:
By car: Take the E80 highway eastbound towards Ankara. After about 370 km (230 miles), take the exit for the D765 highway towards Karabük and Safranbolu. Follow the signs to Safranbolu.
By bus: There are several bus companies that offer regular service from Istanbul to Safranbolu. The journey takes approximately 5-6 hours, depending on traffic.
It's also possible to travel to Safranbolu by train, with regular service from both Ankara and Istanbul. However, the train station is located outside of town and requires a bus or taxi ride to reach Safranbolu's historic center.
