How to get to Santorini
Santorini is a popular tourist destination in Greece, and there are several ways to get there:
By plane: Santorini has its own airport, which is served by several airlines with connections to Athens and other Greek islands as well as major European cities. Flight times from Athens to Santorini are about 45 minutes.
By ferry: Santorini is also accessible by ferry from Athens and other Greek islands. Ferries depart from the port of Piraeus in Athens and take around 5-8 hours depending on the type of ferry. There are also ferry connections from other Greek islands such as Mykonos, Crete, and Rhodes.
By cruise: Many cruise lines include Santorini in their itineraries, making it a popular stop on Mediterranean and Greek Island cruises.
Once you arrive on the island, you can get around by bus, taxi, rental car, or ATV. The local bus system is reliable and affordable, and taxis are readily available. Renting a car or ATV is a great way to explore the island at your own pace, but it's important to note that the roads can be narrow and steep in some areas.
