Good morning from Cunda Island...
I get to Cunda, the beautiful island of Ayvalık, in 15 minutes by motorboat. She welcomes me at the port with her cream-colored skirt and blonde and white hair.
We visit the beautiful hotel @kapyacunda hidden in Cunda's Bahar Street and the elegant hostess of Kala Cunda restaurant, Mrs. Fatma. Since it is early in the morning, we start the day with a breakfast feast before going to our room. All the jams and pastries are made in their own kitchen.
Fig cake, bagel pastry and Easter with gummy net almonds are among the most popular products, what a treat... :)))) The Cretan Peksimeti and Thessaloniki Flakes they serve in cute containers are also delicious.
I'm staying in their spacious and embracing rooms, furnished with an understated elegance, with balconies opening to the pool, decorated with details from the trunk of history, such as the lace, starched, calico covers I remember from my childhood.
But of course, I kept my eye on the hotel's most popular room, the Aegean Sea Suite. It's a spacious and pleasant room with panoramic views of the Aegean Sea, Nespresso coffee machine, blueetooth speakers and more.
🍽 The menus of their restaurant Kala Cunda, where they reflect the beauties of the geography, make those who eat their meals and breakfasts feel this energy. Kala means good in Greek. For dinner, I started with saganaki with wild thyme made with the fresh village cheese we bought from the market, followed by Cretan pate, eggplant söğürme, grilled shrimp... The last dessert was curd dessert from the hands of Fatma Hanım. Perhaps the most poetic part of my dinner tonight...
