So, welcome to the beauty of Gökçeada, to all the diversity of fields, hills, forests, lakes, villages, people and cultures!
The silence of being at a completely different end of the mainland allows us to breathe the absolute silence of each moment in the boundless atmosphere of the island. We are left speechless by the overwhelming size and diversity of the island's geography. Abundance flows from the soil in Gökçeada...
We are going to a special place where we seriously find our inner peace and enjoy nature and life: Laz Koyu Guest House, the monolith of Laz Koyu. This place looks more like a well-restored place with a soul than a new building. This "soulful" choice says a lot about the hosts Irem and Emre's approach to hospitality and hotel management.
As soon as we enter, we are welcomed by a lush garden with green trees and the hosts Ms. Irem and Mr. Emre welcome us with all sincerity. Everything is of course handmade in the guest house. We sit down to a delicious breakfast table with plenty of varieties that one can only serve to a loved one. Everything comes from their garden, and the taste of orange jam is a feast of flavor!
The guest house is made entirely of stone, the spacious rooms have their own balconies and the suggestion that you should not miss the sunset! There are also suites with verandas where families with children can easily stay. There is also a special playground in the garden.
For the sea, we go to Laz Bay, which is a ten minute walk away. There are few places on the island so close to the sea.
Laz Koyu Guest House is a place where being a family and being human is not forgotten. In the evening, we have the chance to eat the unique flavors of the Black Sea in their à la carte restaurant. Stuffed cabbage with meat, hand rolled ravioli and kid tandoori made by the hands of Mother Ayşe are worth a feast!
Special recommendations from the Small Hotels guide: Drink dibek coffee in Zeytinliköy, explore the abandoned houses of Dereköy and don't miss the Gökçeada Museum in the center of the island.
