Bördübet; Like a small amazon forest
Bördübet, which was called "Bird the bed" by English soldiers who hid in this cove several years ago, deserves this name with rock doves, goldfinches, nightingales, piscivorous birds, sparrow hawks and many other kinds of birds. Free from traffic and buildings, Bördübet, where the sea creates an interesting cove intermingling with the forest, reminds one of a small "Amazon Forest" with all its plant, bird and animal diversity.
Located on the Reşadiye peninsula of the holiday town of Marmaris, the Bördübet Cove is a small holiday locality affiliated to Hisarönü Village. Bördübet is located on the part of the peninsula that faces the Gökova Gulf and it is surrounded by dense forests; and like many other coves in the vicinity it has a unique nature. The most significant feature of the cove is its sea that penetrates into the dense pine forest via a 200 meter wide and 600 meter long canal. Surrounded by green pine trees the sea makes a wonderful seascape particularly for photographers. Bördübet, which is under special protection, is also the home for many wild animals such as rock doves, goldfinches, nightingales, piscivorous birds, sparrow hawks, wild boars, rabbits, squirrels, foxes and badgers. It is perfectly safe to watch and listen to the birds, but if you are to take a walk into the depths of the forest, it is better to talk with the inhabitants of the locality first.
