Located within the borders of Mardin, Midyat boasts a history of thousands of years. It is especially known for its narrow streets, golden-hued sunsets, and distinctive limestone architecture. It is one of the most important stops for cultural tourism in Southeastern Anatolia. As Midyat is also home to Syriac (Assyrian) communities, it offers a rich and diverse cultural heritage.
