The difference between staying in Istanbul and experiencing Istanbul: Mr Cas Hotels.
The first owner of the land on which the Güney Palas apartment building is located in 1884 was the pharmacist Jozef Kanzof, son of Luici, a British subject. The Güney Palas building, which was built on this plot of land in Pera in December 1900, was sold to His Highness Sait Pasha. The next owner of Güney Palas was Ali Namık Efendi on May 25, 1905. On March 2, 1933, the building was purchased by Ragıp Devres, a graduate engineer.
Since then, Güney Palas apartment building has hosted many important names. Notable personalities from famous fashion designers to poets, filmmakers and writers stayed here.
This apartment building was talked about not only for its tenants but also for its invitations. Ladies and gentlemen who added elegance to Beyoğlu used to come together at perfect invitations prepared for days. The building was also frequented by Yeşilçam stars in the 1960s.
The hotel has traces of the former residents of Güney Palas and Mr. CAS.
The details inherited from the construction of the Güney Palas apartment building surround you the moment you enter the hotel. The hotel, which has features of the Art Nouveau movement and utilizes Art Deco in its concept design, is a combination of past and present.
We loved the hand-painted pencil drawings on the ceiling, the stairs that take you on a journey through history at every step, and the wood and marble details that will attract your attention.
You are greeted at the door by very kind and caring staff, and with the first step you take inside, you start to breathe and feel the history from the past to the present. The rooms with different concepts are as beautiful as you can only see in the movies; they are very well maintained and it is obvious that attention is paid to the details that make the difference. Our favorite Rebul products are used in the bathrooms. @turunchkozmetik
The rooftop bar restaurant, the view, the ambiance and the music are great.
Güney Palas, also known as the "Tailors Apartment", is named after Emilio the Hatter and the famous fashion designer Yıldırım Mayruk, who had his atelier in the building for years.
On one floor of the hotel, there is a special section open to visitors where Yıldırım Mayruk's clothes and belongings are exhibited.
