We arrived in Istanbul and settled into our hotel, Sarı Konak Sultanahmet, in Sultanahmet to breathe history. Our general understanding of this city is slowly emerging in our souls. We keep going here and there. Because only in Istanbul can one prepare oneself for Istanbul.
In the bitter cold and occasional winter sunshine, we explore the old buildings, wander around the museums, and spend long, leisurely hours in the important places we want to see.
The Istanbul Archaeology Museum is one of these museums, where we reach unbelievable satisfaction. There are excellent artifacts here where we understand that various periods of the old and the new were built on top of each other. One pen is not enough to describe them, we would have to write a thousand of them!
As the evening is about to get dark, we are tired from digesting and marveling at what we have seen. We go to our Sarı Konak Hotel, which is just a short walk away and elegantly reveals itself to us with its characteristic lines.
Our deluxe room with a bay window and the real Istanbul panorama on the terrace of the hotel offers exactly the pleasure we desire.
During the course of our Istanbul trip, we collect everything as much as we can. Our hotel is always within walking distance of the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Archaeological Museum, Basilica Cistern, Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar! In this way, we can well consider Sarı Konak Hotel, where we stayed, as an inexhaustible witness of the ancient perfection of the walls built with these structures...
An ideal place for families with children of all ages.
❤️🔥 For me, the most special and unique 'thing' in the facility is the HOTEL DECORATION BECAUSE IT COMPLETELY BELONGS TO THE HOTEL OWNER - THE MOTHER. The VIEW FROM THE TERRACE IS VERY BEAUTIFUL.
✏️ I think the best time to come to Sultanahmet is APRIL AND MAY, BUT JANUARY AND FEBRUARY ARE MORE QUIET. NO LINES, NO WAITING AT THE MUSEUMS.
🍽️ Let's talk about the food and beverage recommendations that we are sure of their location, flavor and energy:
Fisherman Sabahattin and Magnaura Cafe&Restaurant. Make sure you evaluate them. Also @matbahrestaurant has a special place in our hearts. They also received a Michelin award recently.
In Süleymaniye, you should visit Ali Baba from Erzincanlı for dried beans.
Çağ Kebab in Hocapaşa in Sirkeci, in the bazaar of historical restaurants (a few portions can be devoured) There is an open-air section - Does not accept reservations
Renew doner at Dönerci Şahin Usta - Grand Bazaar
Saade Breakfast for breakfast in Sultanahmet
For coffee, go to the fragrant Kuru Kahveci Mehmet Efendi. Another alternative is Kuru Kahveci Nuri Toplar, which is located down the street and cooked in a wood fire.
Sultanahmet Çiğdem Patisserie, especially the cookies are delicious. You can stop for something sweet on the way.
Historical Pita Bakery in Kuveloğlu Han, the pita with roasted meat and kashkaval is delicious.
