There are historians who have traced the history of Sığacık Castle, and whose streets today are the scene of the hustle and bustle of the local Sığacık bazaar that attracts great interest once a week, back to the Seljuk era. However, what really makes the castle famous is that it was used for the Rhodes expedition of Suleiman the Magnificent in the 16th century. Within the outer walls of the castle, the humble looking 16th century Mosque and the Medrese, which houses art events and exhibitions from time to time, are also among the places that should be visited. The Castle walls display an interesting collage and image, with stones and marble carried from the ancient city of Teos, which was in part the home of the artists of Dynasos. Why Teos Lodge?
