Have you ever been to Gökçeada? 🏖 Gökçeada, Turkey's island famous for its wonderful beaches, rich local culture and colorful... 🌿 The goats and sheep roaming freely on the thyme-scented hills of the island, the chapels in the most unlikely places, the mountains, the gurgling fountains, the centuries-old olive trees, the clean bays to swim in welcome us... We feel like we have arrived in paradise... ✏️ In Tepeköy, one of the most fascinating places on the island, we are guests at The Hill Village House (@thehillvillagehouse), which has been restored while preserving its originality. It is as if this place takes you to another time. 📚 The host Mr. Fatih's kindness in welcoming guests, the location of the hotel, the atmosphere of absolute serenity, beautiful rooms and breakfast are unique. The view is the Zeytinli Dam and a flat green plain... ✨ There are only 6 rooms. The rooms are 17 m2. It is an old Greek house built in accordance with the original. Breakfast is served as a spread of island flavors. Goat milk cheese varieties and jams are wonderful. 🌅 Sunsets are a ritual in Gökçeada, we have been writing about it since forever. As the sun sets behind Semadirek Island at Çınaraltı, where we walk half an hour from the hotel (accompanied by the sounds of goats, sheep and birds), its silhouette creates a fascinating environment. 🕺🏻💃🏻 After completing our ritual, we go to Angelikis Taverna, which is within walking distance from our hotel in Tepeköy, which is famous for its taverns. Angeliki's place always makes us have a happy dinner with its conversation, portions and authentic atmosphere. Meraklis taverna and Barba Yorgo are also famous. There is also a historic village café in the village square. 🏝 Beaches are 10 -15 minutes from the hotel. There are many virgin bays and beaches on the island like paradise. Kefalos Beach, Laz Bay, Uğurlu Beach... Mr. Fatih has created a very modern hotel in a quiet corner of Tepeköy, a sweet Greek village in a geographically central location of Gökçeada. In the village, which seems to be quieter than other centers of the island such as Zeytinliköy and Kaleköy, we think that places such as Barba Yorgo and Meraklis, which are worth seeing in terms of food and entertainment, are local but of a quality that cannot be found in Istanbul, were a sufficient reason to stay in the village. Since the hotel is located further down from the Village Square, it leaves you alone with silence at night. The rooms with Zeytinli dam lake and mountain views have sufficient facilities, from smart televisions to air conditioning. It was also an advantage that breakfast was included, and it was nice to have coffee served at the full breakfast overlooking the view. As a result, we found a pleasant environment in the right place for ourselves.

It is a boutique stone hotel where we stayed for 3 nights between 5-8 September and were wonderfully hosted by its manager, Mr. Fatih. The location is very nice and quiet. The historical texture of the hotel has been restored intact and the view is excellent. The rooms are comfortable and clean. It is incredibly enjoyable and peaceful to have the breakfast prepared with great care by Mr. Fatih on that magnificent terrace. I leave a lot of love to the Turkish coffee served after breakfast☺️. There is nothing to say about the care and attention shown by Mr. Fatih from the moment we made our reservation to the moment we checked out of the hotel. Their hospitality is truly admirable. We thank him very much for everything🙏🏻🙏🏻 See you next year😊

We realized what a good choice we made by staying at The Hill Village House in the Tepeköy region of Gökçeada, where we come every year for a week. The happiness of walking home after visiting the Taverns in the evenings, the privilege of staying in a boutique stone hotel with its wonderful view, and the excellent service quality of Mr. Fatih (the enormous breakfast, the black mulberry syrup with the Turkish coffee he offers after every breakfast, his smiling face, island recommendations, pleasant conversation... ) can be addictive :) We would like to thank him very much and let him know that we have included him in the list as the only hotel we will stay in Gökçeada. We hope to see him in this hotel for many years :)

In terms of location, it was within walking distance of the taverns in Gökçeada Tepeköy. The rooms were extremely comfortable, clean and spacious. The hotel's nature view and breakfast were excellent. Mr. Fatih's attention and care was very good, we thank him very much again. It was a very sweet place that we would choose again.
