Where to eat in Çamlıhemşin
The cuisine of Çamlıhemşin truly reflects the culture and flavors of the Black Sea region. Fish, corn, and beans are some of the key ingredients in the local dishes. The Black Sea's iconic fish, anchovy (hamsi), is commonly featured in Çamlıhemşin’s cuisine as well. Here are some traditional and delicious dishes you must try: muhlama, collard green soup, collard green rolls, baked anchovies, nettle dish, hamsikoli, pekmezli asude, ekşaşi, laz böreği, cornbread, pekmezli kabak, pumpkin rice pudding, pepeçura, termoni, lahana rohtikosu, and Karadeniz pide. If you find yourself in the area, be sure to sample these unique and tasty dishes. Also, don't leave without trying the grilled trout at Ayder Zümrüt Restaurant, fresh from the Fırtına River! And at Kardelen Restaurant in Ayder, be sure to have some meat lokum. And don’t forget to say hi to Nadir Bey for us!
