Places to eat in Sile
Sakligol Social Facilities: This is a great place for those who really want to take a quiet breath alone with nature. It is a completely different experience to have breakfast with a view of the lake or enjoy a grill at noon. Breakfasts are prepared entirely with natural products; there are plates for one person, or if you come with a few people, a spread breakfast is also offered and it is very satisfying. For lunch, they are again successful with options such as meat, chicken and salads. It is a 10-15 minute drive from the center of Şile. It is enough to follow the signs on the road, but unfortunately there is no public transportation.
Kocakuş Recreation Area: A quiet, spacious and literally in nature for breakfast. In summer, it is great to have breakfast under the trees accompanied by birdsong. The products are both varied and organic; from honey-sweets to fried sausages, from cigarette pastries to jams. There is also an area for those who want to make a barbecue or samovar. In winter, a heartwarming breakfast awaits you inside by the warm stove with the smell of toasted bread. It is really peaceful.
Keyf-i Tıkır: A delightful place like its name. The breakfast menu is incredibly rich and the pancake options are delicious. The tea comes in a thermos, so it never gets cold, you drink plenty of it. At lunchtime, they offer a menu full of grilled meats, soups and desserts. The place is both intertwined with nature and aesthetically pleasing. It takes about an hour to get there if you're coming from Üsküdar, but it's definitely worth it when you arrive.
Massha & Şile Fisherman: One of the first places that comes to mind when you think of raki and fish in Şile. The fish is fresh, the appetizers are delicious and the service is fast. When you go, you feel like everything that comes to your table has been carefully prepared. The view is also legendary. On summer evenings, it is wonderful to sit here and eat your meal accompanied by the smell of the sea and close the day with a light breeze.
Melek Abla: This is a small, warm, cozy family business. It's not very luxurious, but it has a very “home-cooked” atmosphere. The ravioli and pancakes are legendary. It's by the sea, there's no alcohol service, but if what you're looking for is a good meal and a peaceful atmosphere, you're in the right place. And the prices are quite reasonable.
Fusha Sile: I can say that it is one of the places with the best view in Şile. Especially if you go for the view, you don't need to look anywhere else. The breakfast is very varied and elegant, but it shows its real difference at dinner. They have an alcoholic menu. Although the prices are a bit high, the quality of the environment and the view make up for it. It is a pleasure to eat here, especially on summer evenings.
Rokethane Restaurant Cafe: An ideal place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is extensive, fish, grills, breakfast dishes, toast, hamburgers... Whatever you want. The view is beautiful and the atmosphere is very cozy. The only disadvantage is that it is very crowded in summer, so it is better to make a reservation before going on weekends.
If you want to taste some more local flavors unique to Şile, you can also taste different local dishes such as plum soup, mındıllı soup, kazayağı salad, water mancar salad, mushroom pie, stuffed rolls, bonito meatballs with parsley, öre, vinegar dessert and bead halva.
