Places to see in Didim

Didim is a district that is at the forefront with its historical richness as well as its sea and natural beauties. Therefore, when you come to Didim, there are many places you can visit and see.  

The most important place among these is the Temple of Apollo. You should not come to Didim and return without seeing this place. Didyma Temple of Apollo is one of the most magnificent and large temples that have survived from the Ancient Greek and Roman Periods. Its dimensions and plan are unique. It is one of the most important divination centers of its time.   

You can see the ancient city of Didyma and the ruins of the Hellenistic and Roman periods that have survived to the present day. Most of these thousands of years old ruins have survived intact.    

You can visit the ancient city of Miletus. You can see and photograph the Miletus Theater and other ruins. This theater is one of the most beautiful examples of Greek and Roman works. You can reach the harbor from the back side by following the steps of the theater. Of the four major harbors of the city of Miletus, this is the only one that has survived and survived to the present day.     

You can go to the ancient city of Priene, which Herodotus, one of the greatest historians, also mentioned in his book. This city was known as one of the most beautiful cities of antiquity. 

You can go to Lake Bafa and Lake Bafa National Park, which is about 10 kilometers from the center of Didim. In Lake Bafa, which is one of the important bird areas, you can observe the birds, take a walk around the lake and in the forest area, and eat fish in the restaurants by the lake.   

You can go to Akbük. Akbük is a place that impresses with its natural and historical beauties. You can visit the island known as Saplı Island, which is located here. B.C. Saplı Island is a place formed by the ashes scattered around after a volcanic eruption in the Aegean in the years. You can even reach the island on foot when the waters recede.    

You can go to Altinkum, famous for its beach. You can visit Akköy and take lots of photos by walking around its streets. You can do bird watching.   

You can go to Söke. You can also spend time sightseeing and shopping in Soke, another holiday destination.
