Places to see in Erdek

Kyzikos Ancient City: Just 5 kilometers from the center of Erdek, I visited the ancient city of Kyzikos, a place that smells of history. My visit made me realize how far back time has gone. Walking among the ruins dating back thousands of years, it was really impressive to see the traces of Ancient Rome and Byzantium. The city walls, temples and agora area are well preserved, so it's a perfect stop for history lovers.

Ocaklar Beach: This was a place where I really found peace and tranquility. The coolness and clarity of the sea attracted me as I walked along the 3 kilometers of golden sandy beach at Ocaklar Beach, which is very close to the center of Erdek. Ideal for families with children, this beach also impresses with its calm atmosphere. If you have the opportunity to spend a day here, you will definitely relax and enjoy the sea.

Çuğra Beach One of the calmest beaches in Erdek. It is 3 kilometers from here and a complete escape point. The cleanliness and silence of the sea makes the time you spend here even more valuable. While walking on the beach in the afternoon, I was mesmerized by the amazing view of the sea. It is a great place to not only swim in the sea but also to relax in the calm atmosphere.

Seyit Gazi Hill: Seeing Erdek from up high is truly a different experience. Seyit Gazi Hill is one of the highest points of the city and you lose track of time while looking at the panoramic view of Erdek from here. Especially at sunset, the view merging with the sea is so peaceful that you don't want to leave without having a cup of tea here.

Paşalimanı Island: Accessible by boat, Paşalimanı Island is a place where tranquility and nature are intertwined. Every minute I spent here helped me get away from the crowds of the city. You can reach the island by choosing boat tours and admire the beauties of nature. The peace on the island reminded me once again how important it is to get away from the city.

Narlı Village: Located on the foothills of the Kaz Mountains, Narlı Village, besides being a village in touch with nature, really gave me peace. It is located 20 kilometers from the city center and it was incredibly enjoyable to cool off in the shade of the trees and spend time in the traditional structures of the village.

Kirazli Monastery I went exploring a bit more and stopped by Kirazlı Monastery. It was really inspiring to visit both a historical and religious atmosphere. The monastery has a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere with its greenery and silence. In a sense, it was a very special experience to feel the traces of the past here.

Kapıdağ Peninsula attracts attention not only with its natural beauties but also with its trails that allow forest walks. During the nature walks on the peninsula, you feel as if you are walking in another world. I highly recommend you to walk around the peninsula, take photos and fall under the spell of nature.

Erdek Open Air Museum: Located in the Erdek district center, this open-air museum offered me the opportunity to see the history of the region up close. Enriched with ancient artifacts and excavation sites, the museum is a great stop for history lovers. By visiting this open-air museum, I learned a lot of interesting information about Erdek's past.

Zeytinli Ada: Zeytinli Island in Erdek stands out with its silence and naturalness. The island is a perfect place for those who want to have a quiet sea vacation. While touring the island by boat, you feel lost in nature. The few hours I spent here allowed me to get away from the noise of the city and be alone with the sea and nature.
