
Places to see in Sile
When you come to Şile, you can first see the long and clean beaches on the Black Sea coast of the town. You can go to Şile Castle in the center. You can visit Şile Lighthouse, the largest lighthouse in our country and the second largest lighthouse in the world.
You can visit Değirmençayırı Waterfall, which is about half an hour away from the district. You can go to Hacıllı Waterfall and Eleven Lakes Valley. During your tour in the valley, you can see nearly eleven lakes and waterfalls in a repeating order and together.
You can go to Kumbaba Hill, one of the most important tourist attractions of Şile. There are red and orange colored sands with different structures on the hill and there is also Kumbaba's tomb in the region. Kumbaba was a chemist who found that the sands in the region were good for many diseases. He used to heal the sick here. When he died, he was buried here and the hill was named after him.
You can see the water coming out of the stones a little behind the Şile Lighthouse. Because of this natural formation, this place was named Crying Rocks. You can go to Şile Ocaklı Island Castle.
In addition to natural beauties, there are many churches and monasteries from the Byzantine period or mosques, inns and baths from the Ottoman period. You can visit these places. You can see Şile houses, which are different in architecture.
You can go to Agva. You can even spend a day traveling around this beautiful town. You can visit the natural wonder known as Hidden Lake. You can see the Göksu and Yeşilçay rivers.
